Sonny Parkour

My experence's and feelings apon my training in parkour

Its been a while

OK, Maybe I didn't keep my promise and blog soon, But I'm blogging now

So yeah a lots been going on, a bit of progression here and there, I've gained much strength over the last few months and have now got Symmetrical muscle ups, and also my climb ups have improved at a dramatic rate over the last few months, being very close to Alasdair's amazing ones. I still have a number of things I need to accomplish. The arena running precision being the hardest at the moment, I've also started doing more rail work, balancing rail precisions and the like. Been conditioning both at home, College (We have a gym ;D) and at sessions trying to get other people to do so too.

Other then that nothing is really going on, I've tent to lost some confidence again for no apparent reason, but its really getting on to new things thats the biggest problem for me but nothing some mental training can't handle was training in the wet and was doing a medium sized precision I fell over scraped my back a bit, realised what I did wrong and done it again stuck perfectly It may be hard but rain training is extremely beneficial. So any traceurs stop complaining and go and train in it! :D, Thats about it for now, won't say blog soon, but will blog in the future... maybe I Only wanted this to be short anyway :) anyway I'm off :)
Laters people!

Awesomes stuff

Well.... Haven't blogged in quite a while have I There has been quite a bit going down, For a while I lost most of my motivation and felt I Wasn't progressing at all. I Couldn't be more wrong I just wasn't seeing it. On Saturday (Yesterday) I gained it back, Thanks to a whole bunch of people I Will put a list of thank you's at the end of my blog post Right... I haven't felt I was progressing much I Know this for a number of reasons I was down/Unfeeling flow and training, Then my phrase came back to me "Even some progression is some progression" Just moving is too. So on Saturday I spent the day with a number of people and I was helping some of them on different techniques such as flick ups and when Jerron came up to me and told me I tought him everything he knows I denied this quote and told him he taught himself Which I think shows I'm not that vain after all :p anyway I was helping people setting little challenge's which was harder then a general movement setting a flow for people etc. When we were talking later as a small group I was asked what do I want to do when I'm older I answered to be a fireman but to be a coach of parkour one day, they all appraised me telling me I'd make a good coach etc, I thanked them but it was them who make me wannt to teach and who give me inspiration to train. and I' also having alot more FUN :)

So I'm feeling alot better now and feeling flow and progressionn everyone on saturday improved

oon other news me and alasdair are working on a summer video to come out at well.... the end of summer and I finally got some wrist bands :)

Heres my thanks list.

Thanks too

Why did I start parkour?
Why do I practice parkour?
What do I hope to gain from it?

Just some questions I've been asking myself quite alot the last few weeks.
Now I'm not going to give direct answers because I dont know them. But I can give my views and opinions why I do.

Why did I Start parkour
I Started originaly to get out of the house and to keep fit, I used to be a person who sat at the computer 24/7 I thought it might just be a hobby, boy was I wrong =P

Why do I practice parkour?
Now this is a toughy and as I said I dont know I have veige ideas on why I continue to practice it If you do read this blog then you'll know I fell I know I keep going on about it but it'll forever be a important part in my training as it was my first major bail I think that parkour is like the london marathon in a way, the people just keep you going, the community even What I call the Traceur community its somthing that has helped me pull though in every aspect of parkour from confidance in my movement to respecting my enviroment. How? Though many things, from quotes to other traceurs I have realised as I have read in other sites that parkour is a life long disipline and is not to be rushed I'll quote stephane vigorax

I think for many people it has to be more personal... everybody's moving... I'm really happy for them... but too quickly, too fast, too easy, too much show... too much

But I realised this and have started experementing with my training taking it slowly in some ways starting again, mastering a movement before mastering the next, traceurs such as blane and tim noburn have helped me realise this, and to take my movement slowly I've seen how smooth both of them are and would like to be like it.
On saturday I was helping a new person in St albans. It felt amazing to teach somthing I hope to do in the near future. but not untill I'm ready both mentally and physically. Which with my training being one of my top prioritys shall happen.

In other topics
My flick ups have gotten really nice :o
I'm conditioning now

This post was a bitch at myslef so yeah
Laters ;)

Time for... A chat with myself I guess.. :P

Well.. I'm slowly regaining confidence not 100% Yet I'd say 55-60% Back to normal I still a little... Paranoid but I'm geting there I'm progressing quite a bit dispite Being currently grounded from training in St albans. I've been developing My footing quite abit. and am currently Getting to know the PCSO's around my area seeing there has been a increase of CSO's there just so they know i'm not a manic burgler :P but its going well on that note.... I'm actually conditioning! for those who know me well will be amazed.. And I'm actually enjoying it, specially the cat crawling (always loved that) But my routene consists of Push ups, Sit ups, Cat crawling up and down stairs (which is harder then it sounds) pull ups Etc, I'm also thinking of changing my diet... which currently consists of .... Well..... Crap I guess
As I said though I'm currently grounded so I cant go to SA. But when I go back i'll be better then ever both mentally and physically And with the help of the more Experenced traceurs (Tim, Reecce Etc) I feel I Might start making more dramatic improvement. But by then I should have most of my confidence back.. Short update but meh noone reads this anyway :P

Laters :)

A Much needed update. :)

Well here is a longer updated, update :P

The last few weeks I've been inactive in a way due to injury But I'm back up and running baby, Here listening to

(Sonny J - Cant stop moving), Best song ever,

Well I've been training amazingly, though losing a little skill and confidence I haven't lost it at all.. Its just...... Locked away for the time being :P
I'm loving life at the moment its really amazing, Ali has gone away for 2 weeks but I'm gonna still train, because after someone spoke to me I've come up with a little Phrase
"Even a little progression is progression"
These words echo in my head as now I'm trying new things.
And my progression with new outlooks on both training and life has given me a huge moral boost. will update you peeps later in the month

Peace out and much love ;)

Laters.

A short update

Well I Havn't been training much, though I'm back in action im still recovering from my fall, I've been thinking alot about where to go from here and what I need to perfect. In the mean time while thinking about this I've been focusing alot on my tricking, mainly sideflips and frontflips, But none the wiser tricking, my sideflips have improved dramaticly, seeing the nice weather is coming back and that I'm back on my trampoline, I may upload a vid of tricking soon so keep your eyes out, anyway I dont have much to say so tahts about it.
